Puppy Basics
Need help knowing what to buy for your puppy? We got you covered!
Harness vs Collar
French Bulldogs are very strong and are also one of the brachycephalic breeds. Because of this, we advise when walking your dog to ONLY use a harness for them and NEVER walk them by their collar. Using a harness will help them breathe better on the walk because if they pull on the leash, the harness will pull at their shoulders rather than on their necks where their collar is so they aren’t getting choked.

Flea/Tick & Heartworm Prevention
We believe in holistic health care when it comes to taking care of our dogs. The side effects of products like Next Guard and Heart Guard to prevent fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes are terrifying! We would never wish these on anyones dog! Because of this, we use Wondercide products on our dogs for this. It’s just a spray and it smells great! We even use it around our house to keep the bugs away.
Stairs & Ramps
Like many other breeds, French Bulldogs are prone to getting IVDD and Hip Dysplasia. Although we breed our dogs to specifically avoid this, environmental factors come into play here as well. Having your frenchies jump off your bed and couch regularly can definitely contribute to this. To avoid this, we suggest getting a couple dog stairs or ramps in your house to put where your dogs are most often. This will help ensure the health of your frenchie for a long time to come.

Treating Allergies
Frenchies are known to get allergies and have sensitive stomachs. Just like humans, what they put into their bodies effects them so much. This is why we encourage high quality kibble, like Dr. Gary’s Best Breed or Nature’s Logic, or a raw diet. We encourage meat only treats and to avoid all the junk food like Milk Bones. Avoid feeding your adult frenchie any chicken products. If you notice your frenchie experiencing allergy symptoms, first try a change of food and treats. Even a different choice of protein can make a big difference.
